3 Ways to Wear Linen Overalls

I've been on the hunt for olive green linen overalls for years. Two years to be exact. So when I went to Target to buy mascara, decided to casually browse the clothes section first (c’mon ladies, I know you do it too) + saw these, I grabbed them without a second thought. I tried them on to be sure, texted my sister, texted my best friend, instagram storied them (yep, I know you do all that too) + eventually bought them after finally grabbing my mascara.

I’ve been wearing them any chance I can get for a variety of summer events + outings, so I thought I’d feature them here + share a few ways you can easily style them too.

Don’t have olive green linen overalls? You can totally use these same combinations with any pair of overalls, shorts, jeans or even skirts. Don’t have a striped shirt? Try a different pattern. Don’t have any LK jewelry? Wear something you already have.

The whole point of my style posts is to offer you a fresh way to look at your clothes. Old or new. Trendy or not. Take what you need, adapt what you want, leave the rest.

Mala Beads + Necklaces

Living Life Creatively, New Products, Spiritual Practice, StyleCait SherrickComment

If you’ve been following me for a while you know that I’m not only deeply inspired by modern art, but I’m also an avid yogi. I’ve never been much into traditional jewelry, so even though I’ve been practicing yoga for 17 years, I’ve never once owned a set of mala beads. Not because I don’t see their value, but because they’re just not really my style.

Abstract designs? Those are my style. Reinterpreted lines, shapes + proportions? Yep, those are totally my jam. Jewelry you can’t get anywhere else? I’m all about it.

My design idea for these necklaces was to make reinterpreted versions of a set of mala beads. I took a traditional mala design, deconstructed it, assembled it so that the proportions were new and different, but the end result still looked enough like a mala that you’d get the reference + I strung it all on my signature chain.

While my malas aren’t meant for counting your breaths, prayers or meditations, they still send the same message. Take a moment to breathe, repeat your positive thoughts, be mindful when you make decisions, infuse yourself into your accessories.

They might not be paintings, standalone sculptures or coffee table books, but these necklaces still portray very large concepts in new visual ways + that’s what makes them modern art.

My malas are some of my original designs + they’re on sale this week. Shop them here.

Meet Henley

Henley raw brass hexagon beads gold filled wire hoop earrings wood background monastera leaves minimal modern handmade jewelry

Meet Henley. She loves simplicity, geometric details + unique everyday jewelry. I like to say she’s pretty easygoing because she goes with everything.

She's my modern take on a classic hoop - ten tiny brass hexagon beads sit on a 1.75” gold-filled wire circle.

She’s delicate, but don’t let her fool you. She survived a dance party in Mexico. I test wore these hoops while on a work trip to Cancun in January + I accidentally pulled one out of my ear while dancing. The whole dance floor stopped dancing to help me look for them until our bartender saved the night + found it on the other side of the dance floor. It was a testament to just how loyal my coworkers are, just how cool Mexican bartenders are + just how resilient these Henley hoops are.

Wear her like you would any other hoops, everyday, no matter the outfit. Here are a few of my IRL style ideas, but really any of your style ideas would work too. She’s that simple.
