Henley raw brass hexagon beads gold filled wire hoop earrings wood background monastera leaves minimal modern handmade jewelry

Meet Henley. She loves simplicity, geometric details + unique everyday jewelry. I like to say she’s pretty easygoing because she goes with everything.

She's my modern take on a classic hoop - ten tiny brass hexagon beads sit on a 1.75” gold-filled wire circle.

She’s delicate, but don’t let her fool you. She survived a dance party in Mexico. I test wore these hoops while on a work trip to Cancun in January + I accidentally pulled one out of my ear while dancing. The whole dance floor stopped dancing to help me look for them until our bartender saved the night + found it on the other side of the dance floor. It was a testament to just how loyal my coworkers are, just how cool Mexican bartenders are + just how resilient these Henley hoops are.

Wear her like you would any other hoops, everyday, no matter the outfit. Here are a few of my IRL style ideas, but really any of your style ideas would work too. She’s that simple.

Nothing’s stopping you except yourself.

I prefer clean lines over ruffles, buttons over bows, and neutrals over pinks. I'm a bit more creatively minimalist than I am traditionally 'girly' when it comes to my sense of style. Until recently, sort of. Let me explain.

This past spring, Target had these adorable gray and white striped pajama shorts hanging near the main aisle; you know, right by the register so you can’t NOT see them. Every time I’d pass them, I’d lovingly oogle them, touch them, check the price, and then put them back. I’d put them back every single time because they had ruffles on the bottom hem.

Did I mention that I’m anti-ruffle?

After weeks of the same “oogle, touch, check the price” routine, I up and bought them. I was so over my self-imposed ruffle limitation. I bought them because it’s important to try new things, because trying new things in small ways with small details is much less scary than diving head first into a fully ruffled top, because exploring new details in style can bring out a whole new side of you.

Ruffled pajama shorts, sweatshirts with lace, flared jeans… whatever detail you choose to try out this month, know that—by doing so—you’re indulging your sense of curiosity. Have a little courage, trust yourself.  Push yourself outside your comfort zone. And do it softly, gently. I guarantee you’ll like who you are out there, ruffles and all.

With love + warm cups of chai tea,

Embrace Comfort

Comfy is stylish, when the real you is accentuated.

Aaah, pants. They’re the last thing we put on in the morning as we’re running out the door and the first thing to come off when we make it back home for dinner; well…second to the bra maybe.

From skinny jeans that give you a bubble butt to spanx that make wearing those high-waisted beauties possible, the pants we wear seem to require sucking something in or tucking something away—like we’re transforming ourselves just to fit into some mainstream standard.  Sounds familiar, right?

Clothes are meant to accentuate what you already have—not change it. If we’re constantly reshaping who we are so we can be like everyone else, how will we ever transform into the truest version of ourselves? How will we ever grow and evolve and just be us?

I vote for wearing pants that let us move, like soft capris. Or boyfriend jeans that let us breathe. Or even pants that actually let us eat. Hello, favorite pair of sweatpants.  Comfy pants give you space and when you have more space, you have more room to grow, literally and figuratively.
